Photography 101: A Pop of Colour

For day 11 I’m posting an image for the assignment ‘A Pop of Colour’ from my first experiment with painting with light. I was a bit dubious about doing this as it never really appealed to me but decided to give it a go as a friend had done it a few times so went out with him to see what he had learned and got to admit, I had a lot of fun.

My idea here was to have the old ruined chapel the warmer red colour with the cross and the doorway the cooler, brighter blue colour to draw the viewer in and contrasted against the darker background.

Off the top of my head I think these were 2 minute exposures using small torches with gel filter to colour the light to paint the subjects.
